A different (better) bus greeted Hashers at the Caravelle. The inside
was certainly an improvement,but the bus driver didn’t seem at all
happy. We headed out towards District 12 where we’d been about 6 months
ago. A brief briefing then we dodged motorbikes and jumped on board the
cross-canal ferry. On the other side another brief briefing before the
runners took off led by hares Trigger and Comes In Style and the walkers
strolled away with Tall Red and virgin hare Blendina. The trail took us
along leafy lanes, torrid tracks in the sun, between ponds of water
lilies and perambulating paths. It was hot!

Runners crossed the walkers a few times and each time the walkers’
numbers swelled. But towards the end things started to unravel. The
walkers came to a 5 way junction with no paper. After waiting in the
shade for about 10 minutes with no sign of the hares some decided to
venture back. But then hare Blendina came and told us we’d gone too far.
She said to wait and ran off to get the bus.(Note Blendina – the call is
“On Back!”) A few minutes later Tall Red appeared and said we’d
over-shot the turn and to come back a sort distance to where the bus was
waiting.

That cold Tiger was sensational! But where was Blendina? We couldn’t
wait and knew she’d find her way to Tall Red’s house for the circle.
Still waiting on Blendina, the circle started with 4 virgins, then
returnees You Licker, Mass T Baiter, Zac, Camel Toe Spotter and Kim. All
Americans were charged for losing the women’s ice hockey to Canada.
Chris Bingham was officially named Jaws, Chokes On Cock came up for a
re-naming but it was deferred and Blendina, who was due to be named, was
still missing! So, the other three hares were duly iced for their
misdemeanours and scored a total of 14 out of 20. Mighty Quinn was iced
for deserting the Hash to go to live in Florence ... and if one Viet
drinks...all Viets drink! A beer war between the English and Americans
took place with lone Canadian Trigger as the peacekeeper in the middle.
Shithouse was charged over Vincent Van Gogh (Ear Ear!), Arthole and
Sheep Sub for exchanging bodily fluids, Hadji Orifice for Japanese
whaling, Mass T'Baiter iced for something, then it was time for some to
head home on the bus, while a good number stayed on for the On On.
A delicious selection of food washed down with Tiger Beer. But in the
middle of it Blendina arrived. She’d hitched a ride in a truck and ended
up at Bing Thanh or somewhere and had to get all the way back. Amazing
story! After dinner some had a massage while others had a relaxing dip
in the cool pool. It was a great way to end an eventful Hash.
