You'd have bet London to a brick we were going to get soaked to the skin after a Sunday morning downpour and black clouds hovering on every horizon. But that didn't deter the pack of "no-lifes" who gathered outside the Caravelle. Only 3 spare seats on the bus as we headed East, and GM/Hare Erectile Dysfunction handed out $100 dollar notes to everyone to buy beer as it was the 47th anniversary of the Great Train Robbery. Actually, ED could have been a young participant in that historical heist.
At the pre-run circle, visitor Inbound anointed his new shoes in Hash tradition, virgins and newcomers warned not to follow Doggy Style and the runners were away. They hadn't gone a kilometre before the FRB's lost trail! ED gently showed them the way as the walkers wandered past. But the walkers also lost trail. There was a river where there was dry ground yesterday so they back-tracked to a well-used path.
Thankfully the rain stayed away and we made our way through rubber plantations, along the dam wall with spectacular views of the lake, slipped and slid across muddy ditches and slithered down slippery slopes of leaf litter. But about 4 kilometres from the bus, the heavens opened. It was a wet and weary assortment of runners arriving at the bus led by ......you guessed it... Sycho* Dick and Pissmeister! Competitive running, silent running, no hash haberdash, FRB's - these two must love anal cooling - in fact, we should re-name them ICEHOLE 1 & ICEHOLE 2 they're on the ice so much.
The rain had stopped and Pencil Dick was acting GM as ED and G2tLD were hares. Appendadicktome's run report was complimentary and he scored a + .7 , but Do It Up Dead's walk report was uncomplimentary and scored an absurd 8. Visitors Virgins and Returnees were 6. Sheep Sub was charged with fashion abuse and was joined on the ice by fellow Kiwi Doggy Style. Good 2 the Last Drop scored here 75th run T shirt (Take it off, put it on) ... and she did. A parade of those wearing the new Hash shirt preceded charges of fashion abuse for Pissmeister, then Sycho* Dick who looked like he'd pissed his pants. Sycho* Dick was joined on the ice by Taxi Boy who'd chivalrously given his Hash shirt to Cheap Ride. While these two were enduring the ice, Jack Off told a long, long joke to prolong their agony.
General Erection was then presented with a bottle of scotch to make the anniversary of the Great Train Robbery and everyone took a sip.....Bleah! An unusual sight was Deaf Tea Pot on the ice for some misdemeanour. Visitor/virgin Pierre was charged for exceeding the SaiGon Hash French quota of 0, with his down-down to a chorus of "Dien Bien Phu, Dien Bien Phu".
By then the rain had started again, and pens don't write on wet paper. So the rest of the circle has faded in an alcoholic blur. I do remember Lik Lik, who suffers from duck's disease, charging walking Hare G2tLD for walking too fast with her long legs – the charge was promptly reversed and Lik Lik was joined on the ice by G2tLD & ED. Then the rain started pelting down and there was a mad dash for the bus.
An entertaining ride back with another rendition of "Alouette", and Pierre in a beer fight with G2tLD and Sheep Sub then putting a condom over his head and inflating it till it burst. On On was at Phatty's.
