Fly, Smooth Groove, fly!

What a sensational birthday celebration! Two buses needed to transport the intending revellers on the much-anticipated outing. Run fees were collected prior to the departure and the 20th Birthday Hash shirts handed out. Then we were off on an early start to Dong Nai and the choice of three torrid treks: Idiots Run, Normal Run or Power Walk.

Surprisingly there were plenty of insane volunteers for the Idiots ...... but the hot, steamy conditions saw quite a few fall by the wayside. Incredibly, habitual Front-Running Bastards Pissmeister and Sycho Dick lost their trail but found the walkers trail and followed it to the bus - about half an hour before the others arrived. Yep, they got iced later for their misdeeds.

The rain stayed away for all but the last 5 minutes of the run and then held off throughout the circle and nosh.

Reports: I thought Headmistress labelled the walking hares as "incontinent" or maybe she said "competent" and awarded a +3, I think Fuckofffee said the run was "excrement" but he might have said "excellent" and awarded a +.123, while Clogwog Orange said the Idiots Run was "shit" but might have said "a hit" and awarded it a -2 making a total of 1.123 out of 30.

Visitors and virgins numbered 13 while the 7 returnees included Stray Pussy, Bright Spark, Bush Wallaby, Strap On, Street Peddler and the Cloggers. The MMC were down Downed for being there on the 20th Birthday of the Saigon Hash.

Namings included Marika and Robert Glover....... She is now Oranga Boom Boom and he's Rubber Glove. Pissmeister and Sycho Dick got the ice for competitive running on the walking trail, and Deaf Tea Pot and Friendly Bank got a special award for notching up 400 runs, "Get a life, get a life.."

Headmistress was charged for saying something was a tight fit, and Deaf Tea Pot got charged with stupidity .... And if one Pommie drinks.. All Pommies drink ! General Erection was feted with becoming a grandfather for the first time , and if one grandfather drinks, All grandfathers drink.

Then it was time to give recognition to those who help so much. Mrs. Nghia and the bus people who've been rolling up every Sunday without fail since 1994. All Viets were then charged for something. So we the headed for the mountains of delicious barbecued shashliks, steaks and chicken with stacks of salad on the tables. Superb nosh! .....and some lovely wines too!

After the eats it was time for a thank you to the Phu My bridge gang and the bus people who'd busily barbecued and prepared all the food. Ample chairs and tables made it a very comfortable evening, aided by portable floodlights powered by a huge gen-set on the Phu My truck.

A bloody good day all round ! We've got to do this barbecue thing more often - it's a great way to end the day's Hash
