Location: Binh Duong Province, up at the top of the Army and Factories road.
The Run: Live hare run, A to B, two legs (short and short)
Highlights: Nice countryside - Hashing is much more scenic in the wet season. Hash circle was located at one of our favourite locations overlooking the quarry. Pencil Dick's water buffalo impersonation was much appreciated by those lucky enough to witness it.
Lowlights: Perhaps a wee bit too short.
Catcher: The live hare was too quick on the first leg, but Wan Hung Lo caught him on the second leg after he got lost in a swamp.
Hash Circle: Ruled by Super Slag, with input from RA Paddy Fag and de facto Songmaster General Erection.
Awards: Super Slag finally received her long overdue 25 Hareset mug, Hopalong got his red Hare shirt.
On-on: Akbar Ali in Bui Vien street, good Indian nosh.
Hare Report: This was the first Live Hare Run done by SH3 in many years (not including the Dalat run earlier this year). The non-walking hares (Pencil Dick and Peckerhead) made several miscalculations. The distance for the first leg was OK but the hounds covered it in much less time than usual, mainly due to the lack of checks. The hounds gave PD an eight minute head start and he managed to keep that margin at the water stop. In an effort to extend the second leg, PD managed to lose himself in a swamp, thus enabling WHL and Claire to catch up to him by cutting across along the high ground. Some of the more gravitationally gifted Hashers suggested that a few more checks would have been in order. For future live hare runs (and, yes, we will do it again!) perhaps a shorter head start and more checks would be make it better.
