A CLAVA CURRIT CUM A FORSIT BIBENS
Good day my fellow Hashers
Last Sunday the Latinos helped us celebrate our 1400th Run. Here is a message received from our esteemed ex-scribe Dingo Dong.
“Congratulations to Saigon Hash...1400 runs and going strong! Boy, I remember writing material for the 1200 run celebration! That was back in 2013 I think. You can take a share of the credit for helping steer Saigon Hash along its long and winding route...sometimes off-track but always 'on song'. Give my regards to the circle and have a beer or two for me at the On-On. Best Wishes, Dingo Dong, On On”
I had a good chat with the visitors from Tokyo, they were impressed with our setup and generous with their spending on hash haberdash. Tinky Winky was very happy to run around those “rail cars", couldn’t see any hobo’s though!
Congratulations go to Paddy Fag on achieving 450 runs and Jack Off on achieving 350 runs.

My first mismanagement committee meeting will be at Game On on Wednesday 17th at 7 pm, please make a note in your diaries. Anyone with ideas about the hash can come.
I’m still looking for someone to help keep a note on the amount of beer we consume on the hash, i.e. how many full empty crates of beer go back under the bus as we depart the circle, how many full crates of empties are on the bus when we alight at the end.

Run 1400 The 1400th Run
Date: 07/05/2017 Location: Duong Nai.
The hares for this run were Casaputa, Meatcicle and Bambino Cicciolina who collaborated in true Latino style to take care of both the runners and the walkers. As it was the 1400th run they thought they would try something different. The trails alternated between paper, rice and flour, at times the hounds were following a preset trail and at other times there was a live hare. The terrain was lanes, tracks railway lines and wilderness. At one point it even incorporated a railway carriage, much to the delight of our resident train spotter Tinky Winky. Thus the tastes of even the most eclectic were fully catered to. They also mixed it up at the drink stop where the traditional tipple of beer was replaced by cocktails specially mixed and shaken by our very own hares. Paul gave the walk report commenting on how beautiful the forests had been and assigning a score of -10. Turn Off gave the run report describing the beautiful forests, mixed terrain and cooling rain. He always enjoys a run with a beer stop although on this occasion he felt that the beer tasted a bit odd! A score of -14 was given making the overall score -12.
Meatcicle was then called in to receive his 50 run T shirt, and Bambino Cicciolina has now Laid the Saigon Hash and was thus presented the appropriate reward.
We than had two namings. After mass debating, intellectualising and democratic voting the new members of our Hash, Afrodizzyak and Naval Gazer, were initiated in the time honoured manner.
The Religious Advisor Broken Seal then called in the virgins. They included Hao and Nestor who came with Cassaputa. Some of our returnees also came with virgins, Natalie and Mai, demonstrating the good work that they have been doing. The Returnees were numerous this week: Fukcoffee, Captain Cockspit, Tinky Winky, Tie Me Up, Harmonica Lewinski, Cunning Lingus, Charlotte, Scrunch Bucket, Tastes Great and Won Hung High. They were welcomed back despite their nefarious excuses. The visitors for this run were Yin and Paul from Sydney, and Kimochi and Rusty Balls from Tokyo.
The charges commenced with the dobber Stevie Blunder who charged the hares with being indecisive as they couldn't choose between flour, rice and paper leading to even more confusion than the average trail. Tinky Winky was them charged with trying to educate the hash by passing on his professional knowledge and demonstrating the correct procedure for checking if a train is coming; many of the hasher though he had finally decided to end it all. Three Bucks Beaver was also charged for admitting that she was getting much better.
Fukcoffee then charged the hares with broadening his horizons. Not only was this the first time he had run a trail that incorporated a railway carriage it was also the first experience he has had of being on a train in Vietnam. He was initially disappointed by the fact that it had only been a cattle truck, but recovered quickly when it was explain to him that this is what all trains in Vietnam are like.
Despite all the efforts that are being made to educate the hashers Tinky Winky feels that stupidity still abounds. He charged Afrodizzyak with this. He had been following the trail just behind her, breathing hard due to all the exertions, when she turned around and shouted "Why are you following me" at him.
Finally Paddy Fag and Inbound were charged with what they consider to be tactical hashing and the rest of us call shortcutting. On this occasion they even left the beer stop, although they claimed that this was due to the fact they were looking for the beer. They found it very quickly back at the bus!
The Mexican ON On was hosted at Rico Taco.
That all for this week folks.

News from the Hash World
The next Harriettes run will be on the on the 2nd of June.
The Monday Hash runs every Monday - surprisingly enough! The start point is always posted on Facebook so please get into the habit of checking it out if you want to run with them.
The Mekong Inter Hash will soon be hosted in Vietnam. Nha Trang Hash have expressed a desire to hold the event and we have offered to help them. The trails could be a collaborative effort between Nha Trang and Saigon Hares, volunteers would be welcome. We have also offered our expertise in the provision of T-shirts and goodie bags, creative ideas will be considered. Our very own General Erection has kindly volunteered to coordinate the registration process.
